Traditions are something handed down
And many take place in a local town.
Some bear a resemblance of days gone by
But "today's world" approach; good sense will defy.
Apples that bobbed in a tub on a field
Woodchopping does a strongman reveal
Coconut shies and races with sacks
Today's world of fairs; yesterday's spirit it lacks.
The past that is lost cannot be regained
As time marches forward; our lives are retrained.
Change the old ways for new; a curse or a blessing
Mankind chooses the path, but with nature they're messing.
